Lavaltrie is located northeast of Montreal along the Saint Lawrence River.

The event was called The Grand Prix de Lanaudiere. Lanaudiere is the region of Quebec where the village of Lavaltrie is located. The races were held on a small pond.

Motorcycles and VTTs were also on the card. You can see the smaller track on the inside used for the other types of racing. By alternating, track plowing could take place on one track while racing was happening on the other.

The races were organized by the CMRC, Canadian Motorsport Racing Club, the largest motocross organization in Canada.

In later years, the auto racing at Lavaltrie fell under ACGQ sanction. It is currently organized by Courses sur glace Eskape Quebec.
