Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands, which represent the last remnants of the medieval Dukedom of Normandy. It is a British Crown Dependency and not technically part of the United Kingdom.

Racing is held on beaches, as the small island has no permanent race track facilities.

Races at Vazon Bay are organized and officiated by the Guernsey Motor Cycle & Car Club.

Racing has to start in mid morning and move along quickly, because by late afternoon, the incoming tide floods the entire track.

The motorcycles also race during the events, but they used a different course that features both right and left hand turns and a small jump.
