RTR YouTube Video:

Plymouth Speedway opened with a surface of oil and stone in 1952. After two weeks the drivers rebelled, and the track was paved. For the 2012 season, they added a dirt oval inside the paved oval.

The dirt races on the inner track were more successful than the races on the main pavement track, so for 2013 the asphalt on the main track was replaced with dirt, as shown here.

All the stock car classes were moved to the main track, but the USAC Mini Sprint classes remained on the small inner track.

The change to all dirt was quite successful. These pictures are from 2013, but in 2016 a brand new first-class grandstand was added. The inner oval has been shortened since these photos were taken as well.
