The town of Bark River is in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

The off road racing facility there has hosted racing for trucks and buggies for over 40 years. It is owned and operated by the local non-profit Lions Club.

A number of different groups have sanctioned the racing there during this century, including CORR (Championship Off Road Racing), WSORR (World Series of Off Road Racing), TORC (The Off Road Championship), and currently the Midwest Short Course League.

The course was seven miles long from 1976-1980. In 1981, it was shortened to 1.6 miles for much improved spectator viewing.
