The Emmet County Fairgrounds is also known as the Petosky Fairgrounds and the Emmet-Charleoux County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds is located on the western edge of town on US 31. |
There was auto racing at the fairgrounds in 1961, on a traditional 1/4 mile dirt oval. |
Racing did not return until 2005, when the popular autocross racing format was tried. It remains on the fairgrounds schedule. |
Autocross racing can be on a flat track or a track with small jumps, humps, bumps, or lumps. Whatever you want to call them, you can see them in the top right of this Ed Esser photo. |
