Perani's Arena & Event Center opened in 1969. For indoor racing events, it seats slightly over 4,000 spectators.

The arena was named after Bob Perani, who was a goalie for the Flint Generals from 1969-1974.

This was the site of the very first race for the Midwest Indoor Racing Series in 2012. They would eventually race at three other indoor venues in Michigan, plus one outdoors.

Races in the series included both winged and wingless 600cc Mini Sprints, Dwarf & Legend Cars, Mini Cup Cars, and Champ Karts.

The series seemed to draw large crowds wherever they raced.

Good fields of cars were usually on hand as well. The arena is/has also been home to ice hockey, basketball, indoor soccer, and arena football.
