Black Lake is located in the northern part of New York and is the largest lake in Saint Lawrence County.

This was the only race ever held there that I know of. It was organized by the Central New York Ice Racing Association.

It was a rare ice race held in New York state during March. By that time, the ice is usually no longer thick enough to support ice racing events.

It was also the first-ever ice race sanctioned by ChumpCar in their short-lived attempt to enter this form of budget auto racing.

They redesigned the track after race time, started two hours late, then only ran one set of heats before cancelling the rest of the show as the March sun melted so much snow that they were racing in deep slush.
