After two attempts as a dirt track, the former Nazareth National Speedway reopened three years later as Pennsylvania International Raceway. It would eventually be renamed Nazareth Speedway.

The track did better as a paved track, and stayed open for 18 years before closing permanently. I took this photo from the turn one grandstand at the start of the Indy Car race on August 28, 2004, which was the last race at the track.

While the above picture was from the final race, these last two pictures were taken before the first race on September 20, 1987.

Notice the large turn four grandstands from photo 2 above were not yet in place when the track opened.
